Engineer CV for Germany (Ingenieurin / Ingenieur)
Engineers are in demand in Germany – civil, mechanical and electrical especially. Employers want to see projects, responsibilities and tools, with numbers.
Recognition and permits
- The job title “Ingenieur” is protected by state law. To use it, the engineering chamber (Ingenieurkammer) of the federal state confirms your degree.
- For a work visa or EU Blue Card your degree must be recognised or comparable – check it in the anabin database or request a statement of comparability (Zeugnisbewertung) from the ZAB.
- Many engineering jobs require German at B1–B2; international companies may accept English.
- Write it on your CV: “Bachelor of Science Bauingenieurwesen (anabin: H+)” or “Zeugnisbewertung der ZAB liegt vor”.
