IT and software developer CV for Germany
IT is not a regulated profession in Germany, so you can apply directly. Many tech teams work in English. What counts: your tech stack, real projects and results.
Recognition and permits
- No recognition is needed to work in IT. For the visa (EU Blue Card) a recognised degree helps; a ZAB statement of comparability makes it easier.
- Since 2023, IT specialists can also get the Blue Card without a degree if they have at least 3 years of relevant experience in the last 7 years.
- English is often enough in tech companies; German (A2–B1) helps in many teams and in daily life.
- Put your work permit status in one line: “EU Blue Card eligible” or “Visa required”.

German or English CV?
Use the language of the job ad. If the ad is in English, an English CV is fine; for German ads, use German.
Should I mention salary?
Only if the ad asks for it (Gehaltsvorstellung). Then give a yearly gross range.
